About The Position

Waukesha County’s Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for two Full-Time Clinical Therapists (may underfill as Senior Mental Health Counselor) to be Crisis Response Unit (CRU) Clinicians with a work assignment at the City of Waukesha Police Department. These positions will provide mobile crisis services. These positions will work directly with law enforcement officers to provide the community with rapid mental health response to crisis situations. The expected work schedules available are either Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm or Monday through Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a master's degree in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational,) counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.
  • Candidates must have Advanced Practice Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor in Training, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Training, status as a minimum.
  • Two years of post bachelor work experience in psychology (clinical, counseling, educational), counseling and guidance, social work or closely related area.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology or a closely‑related field and Two years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four courses in sociology, social work, or psychology and Three years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families.
  • Master's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.
