About The Position

Centerstone is seeking final-year master's students for an unpaid Therapist Internship beginning August 2026. This internship provides graduate students with the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience delivering behavioral health services. Under the supervision of licensed clinicians, interns will provide individual, family, and group therapy while developing skills in assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This internship is intended for students completing the final year of an eligible master's degree program whose graduate program requires an internship or field placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing as a final-year master's student in an accredited program in: Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Or another closely related behavioral health field
  • The student's academic program must require or approve an internship or field placement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in person and through virtual platforms.
  • Interest in providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults within a clinic-based environment.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, families, supervisors, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage documentation deadlines.
  • Willingness to receive supervision, incorporate feedback, and engage in continuous professional growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in behavioral health, education, social services, or working with children and adolescents is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy services under appropriate clinical supervision.
  • Support children and adolescents and adults experiencing behavioral, emotional, social, and academic challenges.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments and assist with the development and ongoing implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with families, school personnel, supervisors, and interdisciplinary treatment team members to coordinate care.
  • Participate in individual supervision, group supervision, team meetings, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while adhering to Centerstone policies, ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable school-based practices.
