About The Position

The Clinical Technician supports caregivers and medical staff on the Cancer Center Infusion team by providing patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The role uses technical and applicable skills to support patients during treatment and contribute to a welcoming, healing environment. The position is based at Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital in Stuart and works days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Caregivers must complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within the new-hire period.
• Nursing students must have BLS certification through the AHA or American Red Cross before hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience.
• Nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1).
• Additional education or training, such as mental health.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision, including taking vital signs and weight, assisting with personal care, point-of-care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices, and inserting urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, or emotional conditions to an RN.
• Help keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Complete the internal training program within two weeks of hire.
