About The Position

Under the direct supervision of an RN or Patient Care Manager, the Clinical Tech performs daily patient care, including bathing and assisting with activities of daily living, and collects patient data such as weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. The role also includes non-sterile treatments, phlebotomy depending on the area of assignment, and EKGs.

The Clinical Tech supports patient- and family-centered care by honoring participation, dignity and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a CNA, complete certification before the end of orientation, or have completed one clinical nursing school rotation and be currently enrolled in a nursing program.

Nice To Haves

• One year of patient care experience in EKG, phlebotomy, nurse aide, or nurse technician work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily patient care activities, including activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Perform complete or partial baths.
• Collect patient data, including weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure measurements, including orthostatic parameters as appropriate.
• Perform non-sterile treatments, including applying cold compresses.
• Perform specimen collection procedures, including phlebotomy depending on the area of assignment.
• Use effective interpersonal skills and demonstrate respect in all interactions.
• Remain actively involved in educational activities related to the role and attend all mandatory in-services.
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Patient Care Manager.
• Be flexible with time as assignments change to meet unit needs.
