The Clinical Systems Analyst serves as a subject matter expert, understanding business and system processes, including interdependencies. They possess advanced knowledge of assigned applications and their integration impacts, and are responsible for the ongoing maintenance and advancement of HIS applications. This includes implementation, testing, training, documentation, and operational support. The role involves managing small maintenance projects, assessing resource needs, coordinating with IS teams and vendors, and communicating with end-users. They will lead optimization efforts, assess current processes for improvement, and work effectively in a team to resolve Help Desk escalations. Responsibilities include investigating and solving problems with HIS application software, databases, interfaces, and reports, providing high-level customer service, and ensuring off-hours coverage for critical issues. The analyst will participate in identifying service issues with the outsourced Help Desk and recommending solutions, implementing applications on schedule, and assisting with process workflow redesign. They will ensure the use of role-based menus and report creation using Meditech’s Non-Procedural Representation Report Writer. The role also involves ensuring applications are up-to-date, routine maintenance is performed, and taking responsibility for assigned projects. This includes coordinating with IS and other departments, providing input to design and architecture, project planning, change management, vendor integration, and user communication. The Clinical Systems Analyst is an active participant in Information Service’s PMO, ensuring projects follow standard IS methodologies and contributing to the maintenance of these methodologies. They will also act as a coach, mentor, and motivator for project team members, and perform other related duties as assigned. Continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements, are mandatory, as is demonstrating professional work behavior and adhering to organizational policies and external agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Masters Preferred), preferably in computer science or related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience managing and/or directing technological security operations (Healthcare preferred)
  • Experience with the NIST Framework preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a business liaison for assigned departments within the health system to ensure that issues are uncovered and recognized before they become critical problems.
  • As subject matter expert, understands business process, system processes which include interdependencies across the organization.
  • Has an advanced knowledge of assigned applications and clearly understands the integration impact.
  • Provides ongoing maintenance and advancement of assigned HIS applications through effective implementation of solutions, which support the user and application needs of the organization.
  • In this capacity, the System Analyst is responsible for implementation, testing, training, documentation and ongoing operational efforts of the HIS application software.
  • Independently, manages small maintenance projects.
  • Assessing resource needs, coordinating with IS teams and vendor, communicating with end-users.
  • Leads optimization efforts with assigned departments.
  • Assess current processes and determine areas of improvement to optimize system functionality, improve efficiency, minimize redundant processes.
  • Works effectively as part of a team in resolving issues escalated through the Help Desk in a timely manner.
  • Investigates, tests, solves problems with HIS application software, databases, interfaces and reports.
  • Provides high level of customer service and appropriate coverage off-hours for critical problems ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
  • Actively participates in the process of identifying service issues with the outsourced Help Desk and recommending solutions.
  • Implement applications on schedule while assisting the Senior Analysts and Team Lead with the promotion / acceptance of process workflow redesign.
  • The System Analyst will also ensure the use role-based menus and the creation of reports using Meditech’s Non-Procedural Representation Report Writer.
  • Responsible for ensuring applications are at the most recent level and routine maintenance is being performed.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned projects by coordinating with IS and other departments as necessary to ensure proper communication and execution.
  • Provides input to design and architecture definition as appropriate, project planning, change management coordination, vendor integration and coordination, user / department communication / notification, etc.
  • Active participant of Information Service’s PMO responsible for ensuring each project is managed following the standard IS methodologies.
  • Additionally, as part of ISPMO shares in the responsibility for the maintenance of standard project methodologies and procedures.
  • Act as Coach, mentor and motivator for project team members.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior by following Service Standards and Success factors.
  • Complies with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adheres to external agency requirements.
