About The Position

Clinical Support transports and assists patients and departmental needs. Assists at the front desk. Processes patient information. The Rehabilitation Aide offers support to clinicians within the Rehab Services Department. This support can range from chaperoning therapy sessions, assisting with front office tasks, assisting clinicians during care of clients, and maintaining the appearance of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a chaperone during sensitive portions of Pelvic Floor exams/treatments
  • Provides receptionist and general office assistance to patients, visitors, and other Health System staff
  • Disinfects equipment and assists in maintaining tidiness of the department
  • Acts under the direction of the therapist or therapy assistant
  • Determines if adequate equipment is available for use.
  • Disinfects equipment and reports malfunctions as needed.
  • Maintains the safety of the patient while in transit.
  • Responsible to know what to do in case of patient emergency, i.e., call a patient code or get help when necessary.
  • Practices safe techniques in transporting patients, oxygen and I.V.'s,
  • Proactively prevents patient falls, maintains patient safety as first priority at all times
  • Provides patients with information regarding length of wait time for an appointment.
  • Receives incoming telephone calls and directs them throughout the department. Takes messages when necessary.
  • Serves as resource to patients and families,
  • Transports patients throughout various areas of the Health Center.
  • Verifies with nursing personnel the special needs of the patient.
