The Clinical Support RN consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. This role involves rounding on all Med-Surg patient care areas, assisting as needed, and offering clinical expertise, coaching, and just-in-time teaching to novice RNs and other Med Surg staff. The Clinical Support RN provides safe, high-quality, and age-appropriate care in all assigned areas, deploying to various units as needed by the Nursing Supervisor. This position offers guidance and support to less experienced nursing staff, fostering clinical competence, confidence, and professional development. The role promotes the effective use of the nursing process and ensures proper documentation aligned with Nursing PI activities. Additionally, the Clinical Support RN assists with patient assessments, administers and monitors medications, supports staff by transporting and assisting patients, maintains proficiency in nursing informatics systems, and collaborates with Nursing Education to stay informed of new initiatives. The Clinical Support RN models service excellence, maintains professionalism, and adheres to infection control and hospital safety protocols. Other related duties may be assigned by the Nursing Supervisor to support departmental operations and patient care.
