About The Position

The Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit offering comprehensive care for infants, children, and young adults across hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical needs, and behavioral crisis monitoring. The unit excels in managing complex hematology and oncology cases, including chemotherapy administration and central line care, while also accommodating general medical/surgical patients to maintain a safe environment for immunocompromised individuals. The team collaborates closely with outpatient clinics to ensure seamless care coordination. They foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, safety, respect, learning, professional growth, and innovation to deliver exceptional pediatric care.

Requirements

  • Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
  • Skills in basic computer operation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
