About The Position

This hands-on position is ideal for college students pursuing careers in healthcare, nursing, medicine, or public health. Under the supervision of clinical staff, you will gain valuable experience in outpatient care and patient interaction while supporting day-to-day clinical operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be enrolled as a current student at Stony Brook University.
• Letter of recommendation.
• Must have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring patients are seen promptly in exam rooms at our outpatient facility.
• Help prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment before and after exams or procedures.
• Take and document patient vital signs and intake information.
• Enter patient data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system accurately.
• Review patient charts and prepare necessary paperwork for clinical staff and patients.
• Collect basic specimens, such as urine samples, as needed.
• Support supply management by helping to track and order materials for patient care.
• Perform other supportive clinical tasks as assigned.
