About The Position

The Clinical Support Associate – Float provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies according to unit standards. Clinical Support Associates hired into this position support all areas of the Minneapolis campus hospital except the Operating Rooms, offering the opportunity to work in different units and learn new skills. The role is part of Children’s Minnesota’s nursing care team, which includes registered nurses, clinical support associates, and unit operations coordinators. The broader neonatal float team supports the Special Care Nursery, Infant Care Center, and Neonatal Intensive Care units. The team values teamwork, open communication, safety, respect, learning, and professional growth, and is committed to excellent, family-centered care that minimizes procedural pain whenever possible and considers social, economic, and cultural diversity.

Requirements

• Completion of a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completion of a nursing- or health care-related clinical practicum course.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform the position’s functions.
• Basic computer operation skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities
