About The Position

The Clinic Support Assistant (Health Services) provides hands-on clinical and operational support within the clinic setting under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. This role focuses on assisting with resident health monitoring, basic clinical tasks, clinic flow, and accurate documentation. This role supports implementation of health and wellness practices specific to individuals with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and reinforces established clinical and behavioral supports.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Medication Administration, CPR, and First Aid certification required.
• Experience providing community supports to individuals with intellectual disabilities required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Prior experience using Word and Excel required.
• Ability and willingness to implement approved de-escalation and intervention techniques as inserviced by company.
• Requires mental and emotional ability to remain calm, polite, and function effectively during stressful/emergency situations, and with clients who may be disruptive, demanding, cognitively challenged or exhibit behavioral outbursts.
• Bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, walking, standing, running, squatting, and bilateral manual dexterity to perform interventions and other essential job functions.
• Requires the ability to accompany and supervise students to medical appointments.
• Ability to sit for periods of up to two hours.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to supervise and communicate to clients using sight, hearing, and speech.
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
• Ability to multitask and flexibility for changes in priorities.
• Ability to remain awake and alert during entire shift.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or MA (Medical Assistant) preferred.
• One-year previous experience working in a clinic preferred.
• Previous experience administering medications preferred.
• Previous experience medically supporting/advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily clinic operations and assists with resident flow through the clinic
• Assists with tracking and responding to clinic-related requests under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Assists in triaging residents to nursing staff based on observed needs
• Provides hands-on support to residents during clinic visits, exams, and procedures
• Collects and documents vitals, weights, and other health monitoring data as directed
• Performs basic clinical tasks within scope, including: Wound care support, Nail care, Basic screenings (e.g., skin, ears)
• Observes and reports changes in resident condition, including changes in baseline functioning and PWS-related concerns
• Supports Collection, preparation, and coordination of laboratory specimens.
• Accurately documents care provided and observations in required systems
• Reports findings, concerns, and changes in condition directly to the Registered Nurse
• Communicates completion of assigned tasks and any barriers encountered
• Assists in preparation for clinical visits with internal and contracted providers, including gathering relevant documentation
• Completes assigned compliance tasks
• Assists with onboarding training support for new and existing PWS employees
• Conducts self in a positive, respectful, and collaborative manner
• Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintains confidentiality and professional standards
