As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical training and development for all assigned clinical teammates who have not completed independent licensure/ certification. The role is responsible for maintaining a high level of performance by providing clinical supervision, education, and training for the assigned counselors who are in training. You will ensure all clinical documentation is on par with state/federal regulations and Pinnacle Treatment Centers policies. The Clinical Supervisor position requires working independently and under minimal supervision and requires a clear knowledge of the agencies’ policy and procedures including disciplinary and grievance adherence.

Requirements

  • Possess a license that is in line with Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) qualifications as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Maintain compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Possess knowledge, skills, and abilities as it relates to: The evaluation of patients, treatment planning, and counseling services
  • The use, abuse and treatment of illicit drugs and addiction.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Professional demeanor and customer service practices.
  • Competence with Microsoft computer programs.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license in good standing in state of employment and be insurable by the designated carrier if required to drive for company purposes.
  • Localized travel up to 15% may be required to attend meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Assures compliance of the clinical program with CARF and all state, federal, local, and governing body policies.
  • Evaluates the clinical needs of the counselor trainee and develops appropriate training to address identified needs.
  • Provides clinical supervision to associates in the fields of social work, marriage and family therapy, and/or professional clinical counseling in accordance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
  • May also provide clinical supervision to Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) counselor and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselors.
  • Conduct individual/group/dyadic/triadic supervision sessions at the frequency required for associate registration (BBS) and/or Pinnacle policy.
  • Ensure all supervision activities are conducted within the scope of Pinnacle Treatment Center’s services and the supervisor’s licensure, training, and competence.
  • Ensures timely and complete documentation of treatment services through regular review of records and digital signing as needed
  • Presents material in seminars, individual and group counseling, when necessary, and supervises the educational aspects of the clinical program.
  • Assists professional staff in resolving program and treatment difficulties as may be encountered, supervises assigned personnel providing group and individual counseling/therapy.
  • Assists in planning individual treatment programs and activities.
  • Assures continuing staff effectiveness for assigned area of responsibility, provides supervision and guidance to individual staff.
  • Provides continuing professional development of assigned staff, reviews individual development goals, progress and evaluation and certification of progress and results.
  • Monitors all clinical program areas regularly to evaluate performance of assigned associate counselors, assists with issues/concerns, and interacts with patients as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient's information to ensure patient rights are protected
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with the medical profession, referral sources, EAPs, and other health related facilities and organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
  • Network and marketing to promote the program and maintain a positive community relationship.
  • Ensure quality care for the population we serve to include follow-up with adjustments of the treatment program as needed.
  • Directly communicate with other leadership teammates and follow up with periodic updates to address immediate concerns and approval of all administrative decisions that affect the clinical team and program.
