About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to licensed social workers, registered nurses, and other clinical staff who conduct in-home assessments and ongoing visits with older adults and individuals with disabilities served by the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA). This role ensures high-quality service delivery, compliance with Medicaid and aging network program requirements, and effective coordination of care. The Clinical Supervisor balances clinical oversight, staff development, and operational responsibilities to support positive client outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Active LSW or RN licensure.
  • 2 years of experience in healthcare, case management, social services, or Medicaid funded programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid, waiver programs, and community-based long-term services and supports.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in case management systems, electronic documentation, and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise licensed social workers, nurses, and case management staff who provide in-home assessments and care coordination.
  • Conduct regular case conferences, one-on-one supervision, and team meetings.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and annual evaluations to ensure professional growth and accountability.
  • Review and approve care plans, assessments, and service authorizations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and appropriateness.
  • Monitor clinical documentation for quality, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Guide staff in complex cases, high-risk situations, or crisis intervention.
  • Ensure services are client-centered, culturally competent, and aligned with best practices.
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned clinical teams, ensuring program requirements, caseload expectations, and performance measures are met.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicaid waiver rules, state aging program guidelines, and COAAA policies.
  • Participate in audits, quality assurance activities, and corrective action planning.
  • Track performance data and contribute to program evaluation and improvement.
  • Serve as liaison between frontline staff, program leadership, and external partners.
  • Coordinate with providers, healthcare systems, and community resources to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate program updates, policy changes, and training needs to staff.
  • Provide training and ongoing support for staff on clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and case management practices.
  • Identify staff development needs and recommend training opportunities.
