About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Clinical Supervisor (RN) to provide and oversee clinical care in an institutional setting. The position reports directly to the Warden/Facility Administrator or Health Service Administrator for daily clinical operations within the medical department. The successful applicant must perform the listed functions at a pace and level consistent with the actual job performance requirements.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited college or university nursing program with a diploma or degree in nursing.
• Possess current nursing licensure in the state of employment.
• Two years of nursing experience required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and possess a strong knowledge base in clinical nursing and basic management principles and practices.
• Basic working knowledge of computers and office equipment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily nursing and clinical activities.
• Supervise nursing and non-licensed health care providers, including training new employees, evaluating performance, preparing written performance appraisals, resolving complaints and disputes, taking corrective or disciplinary action, developing work schedules, and approving leave requests.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of licensure and apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Provide adequate facility staffing and fill in as needed during periods of short staffing.
• As needed, execute physician’s orders, assist physicians with examinations or treatment, dispense and administer medications, treat emergencies, screen patients for referrals, and perform intakes.
• Perform triage and physical assessments.
• Perform and direct emergency care and procedures as needed, and call the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders.
