Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in administration or human services), or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a health and human services agency, including at least 1 year working directly with chemically dependent individuals.
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment, mental health, and recovery modalities.
  • Familiarity with DSM criteria and treatment planning.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support counseling staff.
  • Evaluate potential clients for the appropriate level of care and identify DSM IV-TR diagnoses (Axis I-V).
  • Assist counselors in developing effective treatment plans.
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings and participate in case consultations.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to counselors and other assigned staff.
  • Attend shift change and company meetings.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload as needed.
  • Assist the Program Director in developing new programs for the facility.
  • Attend necessary training sessions.
  • Perform clerical duties for maintaining client files.
  • Listen to clients regarding all areas of treatment.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention.
  • Ensure the clinical program operates daily as scheduled.
