About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor performs a wide range of clinical, administrative, quality assurance and supervisory functions under the general supervision of the Program Director and in support of the daily operation of residential facility. Activities include daily management of the residence including but not limited to clinical supervision, monitoring of client records, program planning and crisis intervention.

Requirements

• Appropriate New York State Qualified Health Professional (QHP) clinical license or credential. QHP status may be met through any of the following licenses or credentials: Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, including permit-eligible practitioners, Licensed Social Worker, including permit-eligible practitioners, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physician Assistant (PA), M.D. or D.O.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Qualified Health Professional (QHP) status with 3-5 years of chemical dependency treatment experience.
• Possession of a valid New York State driver's license, a safe driving record, and willingness to utilize a personal vehicle as needed in connection with employment.
• Knowledge of the general principles and practices of personnel management, supervision, and leadership development.
• General knowledge of the physical, mental, emotional, and social ramifications of substance abuse, substance abuse counseling techniques, group dynamics, and techniques for conducting psychoeducational and therapy groups.
• General understanding of the principles of adult learning, interviewing techniques, and generally accepted crisis intervention techniques.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in residential services is preferred but not required.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, referral agents, third-party payment agents, client collaterals, and the general public.
• Ability to supervise and evaluate the development and maintenance of accurate clinical documentation and effectively teach complex principles related to Mental Health and Substance Abuse theory and treatment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under stress, while achieving results through supervised staff and maintaining a professional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of program plans
• Prepares and submits clinical reports to program director
• Performs review and supervisory maintenance of official records including treatment plans, progress reports, session and group notes, and discharge/aftercare plans
• Reviews resident admission applications, develops and conducts in-service training for clinical staff
• Provides immediate supervision of clinical staff including conducting regular performance reviews and maintaining supervisory records
• Assists clinical staff in their development and understanding of chemically dependent behavior, interviewing skills, group facilitation skills, therapy techniques, client evaluation, and clinical documentation
