About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, clinical oversight, and support to a team of Housing Stabilization Case Mangers. The Clinical Supervisor plays a key leadership role in developing and maintaining a person-centered model of care for supporting the case management and behavioral health needs of residents. In alignment with SFH’s values, this position ensures services adhere to a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed Philosophy of Care and supports the principles of Housing First and Harm Reduction. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of LaGrange’s residential services team within the housing department. This role balances direct service delivery with clinical supervision and team leadership. In addition to providing supervision, this position will carry a small caseload and provide housing and stabilization supports to residents with complex behavioral health needs. This includes providing brief counseling, assessment, crisis stabilization, and care coordination, as well as providing internal and external service navigation for residents. The Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively across SFH programs and with external partners to ensure seamless care for residents and supports the Residential Housing Manager in maintaining best practice standards and protocols.

  • Ability to network and build relationships with external organizations and strengthen internal partnerships with other SFH programs.
  • Knowledge of Boston-based treatment providers and resources.
  • Knowledge of and confidence in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • LCSW required, LICSW preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years postgraduate experience working with highly vulnerable, high-barrier individuals with complex needs.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, emergency response systems, and short-term stabilization

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred.
  • Lived experience with homelessness and/or recovery a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily workflow of a team of (5) Housing Stabilization Case Managers within the LaGrange Residential Services Team
  • Interviews, selects, and trains staff
  • Provides weekly, 1:1 general and clinical supervision to assigned staff no less than 1 hour/week
  • Facilitates weekly, group-based clinical supervision with Housing Case Managers
  • Provides constructive and timely performance communication.
  • Provides timely feedback, fosters continuous learning and, as needed, addresses performance concerns in adherence to SFH policies
  • Embed a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and harm reduction approach in accordance with SFH’s Philosophy of Care.
  • Ensure a highly responsive model of care that encourages residents to access treatment and help removing barriers to care.
  • Provide support to HCMs to develop person-centered service plans with residents.
  • Demonstrate and coach HCMs in the practice of low-threshold assertive case management
  • Develop and implement protocols, workflows, and outcome tracking related to engagement services and service plans
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of recordkeeping and quality assurance plans
  • Review, monitor and ensure all resident service plans are complete and up to date
  • Maintain a small caseload of residents with complex behavioral health needs
  • Provide brief, solution-focused counseling and crisis intervention for any resident with complex behavioral health needs
  • Support HCMs in navigating behavioral health crises, including de-escalation support, Section 12/35 evaluations, and coordination with emergency services
  • Coordinate closely with external agencies to case conference and facilitate continuity of care across settings.
  • Attend external care coordination meetings to collaborate with community Partners
  • Provides after hour, weekend and holiday on-call support for emergencies in a shared rotation with other members of the Housing Leadership Team.
  • Adhere to agency code of conduct.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
