About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor develops the mission, goals, policies and processes of the interdisciplinary clinical programs to ensure adequate and focused treatment modalities for Tribal beneficiaries. Develops clinical protocols and oversees all clinical programs and services. Provides continual evaluation in an effort to improve service delivery consistent with quality improvement principles and practices to maintain state and federal licensure and certification.

Requirements

Strong understanding and sensitivity to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal culture and lifestyle, working effectively with AI/AN populations.
Knowledge of state and federal guidelines for clinical programs and “best practice” techniques.
Knowledge of supervisory practices, community organization/development principles and processes.
Knowledge of ability to carry out confidentiality rules for clients seeking substance abuse services.
Skilled in the coordination of patient care in remote locations (phone consultations, etc.).
Effective oral and written communication skills with sensitivity to the lifestyles of targeted participants.
Skills in operating personal computers using a variety of computer software.
Ability to provide behavioral health treatment services in a clinical and community-based setting.
Ability to listen, observe, and records a variety of information and situations.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, coworkers, and outside contacts.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all applicable federal and tribal privacy laws and KIC policy (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
Ability to learn and apply program/agency operating policies and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
Three (3) years supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience in the development and continuity of a behavioral health component which includes: terminology, biopsychosocial assessments, and consultation for medical and other related professional persons.
Progressive responsible administrative/management work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform duties of this position.
A combination of relevant experience, education, and training may substitute for education and experience requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Proof of valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Current unrestricted LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychological Associate license to practice in the State of Alaska.
Experience in community clinic preferred and a strong commitment to multi-disciplinary teamwork

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of casework activities including screening, intake, and assessment.
Work includes a regular caseload, walk-in clients, home visits, telephone conferences; with individuals and families involving counseling in marital problems, parent/child relationships, alcohol and drug-related problems, grief, sexuality, identity/self-worth problems, batterers, survivors, crisis situations, and related social, emotional, and psychological problems.
Makes and receives referrals from other local agencies; establish rapport and cooperative working relationship with other programs and agencies.
Provides advocate services for clients in obtaining services from public agencies, lawyers, schools, or others concerned with the client.
Administrative duties include analyzing and writing narrative/statistical reports, provide program direction, and staff supervision.
Assignments are performed with considerable independence and are reviewed by the Behavioral Health Director through staffing, monthly reports, and quarterly reviews for effectiveness reflected in ongoing or completed casework.
Attends meetings, conferences and workshops in order to more effectively assist clients.
Directly supervises the staff and provides clinical supervision to all providers within the Behavioral Health Department.
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
