About The Position

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a Clinical Supervisor for our Center for Family Engagement and Well-Being Program. This position is responsible for the management, quality, and administration of the clinical programing, such as the provisions of clinical leadership and direct supervision for assigned staff. The Clinical Supervisor serves as a member of the management team ensuring sound clinical practices in programming according to the NYAP mission, vision, and values. The person in this role must hold their LPC, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT licensure. For the Emergency Reception Center staff will provide on-site assessment, clinical and support services to youth awaiting placement. The Reception Center will be a more home-like environment and will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. It will be available to accept youth at any time of the day or night, and it will have workstation areas where DCFS staff can use their laptops and work together with NYAP Reception Center staff to locate placements for youth. Services offered at NYAP’s Reception Center will include: Behavioral Stabilization Support, including crisis de-escalation and short-term evidence-based clinical services; Comprehensive Assessment that is strengths-based and person-directed; Intensive and Creative Placement and Permanency Planning based on assessment results and the tenets of the Casey Family Programs Permanency Roundtable Model; Group Treatment, Support Groups, and Structured Activities; Basic Care as needed, including personal care supplies and places to eat, shower, relax and/or sleep for short periods.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Services or other related human service field
  • 2 years’ experience in the field of human services with experience in supervision.
  • Must hold LPC, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT licensure.
  • Capacity to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance (100,000/300,000 bodily injury coverage) and a good driving record.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
  • Employees must be able to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • NYAP also requires all of our employees, regardless of your title/position, to hold and maintain automobile liability insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Programs mission, values, and philosophies
  • Screen referrals upon admission, assigning cases and assuring all initial documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of training plans for treatment and service team members.
  • Attend team meetings and provide clinical consultation and feedback to the treatment team to assure high quality and effective services.
  • Provide consultation and advocacy on behalf of clients with schools, community agencies, and other providers.
  • Provide on-call services to respond to after hour emergencies and crises based on program needs.
  • Provide weekly group and/or individual supervision
  • Review all new clients with assigned staff to identify immediate treatment needs and/or safety concerns
  • Review and cosign Individual Service/Treatment Plans and Diagnostic Assessments
  • Review and assure the completion of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Evaluate direct service staff
  • Regularly participate in quality assurance activities
