The Clinical Supervisor supports administrative responsibility for department service functions, working collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager. In their absence, the Clinical Supervisor may assume administrative scope. They develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing personnel orientation and training, communicating effectively with staff, physicians, and administration, and ensuring the quality of staff and functions during their shift. The role also involves assisting the Department Director in daily operations, directing and evaluating personnel, and ensuring efficient department functions. Direct patient care is performed as needed within the scope of practice, with continuous assessment of care and direction to staff for immediate changes in the plan of care.
