This opportunity is full-time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a day shift schedule. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Wellington Regional Medical Center is located in Wellington, Florida. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • BSN required.
  • Minimum of one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care, Women Services specialty nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) as required by specialty.
  • Current Florida nursing license.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certification in specialty preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards and philosophy.
  • Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
  • The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing activities.
  • Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead.
  • Verbalizes stroke alert process.
  • Assists the ICU nurse with telemedicine consult and physician examination/evaluation and transport of inpatient stroke alert to and from CT scan.
  • Performs and documents the NIHSS and bedside swallow, assists with preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment as indicated.
  • Provides care for stroke patients on the unit.
  • Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 8 hour online training.
  • Provides shift to shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and utilization of resources for daily operations.
  • Maintains the environment of care.
  • Provides care to patients in a competent, capable, caring and efficient manner.
  • Care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Role models organizational values.
  • Provides real-time feedback to staff to improve performance.
  • Leads/Participates in department process improvement to improve projects outcomes.
  • Facilitates employee engagement activities including professional/shared governance participation.
