This role supervises clinical staff in the LOC Med Specialties clinic, LOC Gen Med Clinic, and Centralized Med Specialty Nurse Triage. The Clinical Supervisor provides day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for ambulatory staff during assigned shifts, establishing caring, therapeutic relationships with patients and families through effective communication, shared decision-making, and mutual goal setting. They collaborate closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and clinic leadership to meet patient and family needs, and lead and participate in daily safety and capacity huddles. The role involves overseeing staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization to align with patient volume, acuity, and productivity targets, while supporting clinic goals, change initiatives, and nursing shared governance activities. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action for staff, creating and managing staffing schedules, and providing education and guidance to staff and students. They participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and the development of evidence-based care protocols, monitor patient safety, and ensure timely, appropriate interventions. The position supports clinic management with productivity, staffing, and budgetary goals, assists with conflict resolution, and fosters a positive, collaborative team environment, while maintaining accountability for personal professional practice and progress toward annual goals.
