About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor - Cath Lab is responsible for aligning the department with the strategy map and implementing initiatives to support the Independence Health System’s mission and vision. This role acts as a catalyst for change, promptly resolving problems and improving processes. The supervisor ensures a safe working environment, adherence to safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, and fair application of policies and procedures. A key aspect of this role is exceeding customer expectations and prioritizing customer needs in decision-making to enhance satisfaction. The position requires effective task management, resource utilization, workload review, system implementation, and clear direction setting. This role has direct supervisory responsibilities, serving as a coach and mentor to department staff. Management duties include hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition, rewards, staff productivity, and performance management. The supervisor oversees unit operations for efficient patient care management, ensures appropriate patient assignments, and conducts daily rounding with patients and staff to ensure quality care. They also ensure the environment of care meets regulatory requirements, manage the unit to promote patient and employee satisfaction, safety, and retention, and serve as a real-time resource for clinical expertise and problem-solving. The role coordinates quality initiatives and process improvements, develops leadership skills among staff (communication, decision-making, problem-solving/critical thinking, employee engagement), and supports career advancement. Functions as a role model, encouraging staff development, and demonstrates leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and creating a culture of learning. The supervisor hires and develops staff with appropriate skills, abilities, and attitudes. Responsibilities also include assisting in budget development, daily operational resource management (staff, supplies, equipment), and ensuring optimal productivity. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program
  • Current PA RN license
  • Healthcare Provider CPR
  • ACLS
  • Two years critical care nursing experience
  • Proficiency in IV access and EKG competency
  • Zero to Two years supervisory/management experience in Nursing
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Independent and critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of functional area
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Two years recent Cath Lab or Electrophysiology experience which includes device implants, diagnostic or therapeutic EP procedures.
