The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based nursing care across the care continuum, including: Assessment Diagnosis Outcome identification Planning Implementation Evaluation The Clinical Nurse participates in clinical decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve desired outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. Practice is guided by the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. Unit Overview – Cardiac Catheterization Lab Two (2) procedural rooms Hands‑on, high‑acuity nursing environment Opportunity to directly impact patient outcomes Patient Populations Include: STEMI TAVR Pacemakers and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs) Watchman procedures Coronary Heart Disease Pulmonary Hypertension Cardiogenic Shock Peripheral Vascular Disease Call Requirements 30‑minute response time Rotating call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays Procedural and Clinical Skills: Management of IV medications Hemodynamic monitoring and response Pulmonary adjunct management Cath/EP lab‑specific technology Maintenance of sterile and aseptic environment Professional Nursing Skills: Interdisciplinary communication Critical thinking in high‑acuity situations One‑to‑one patient care BLS and ACLS utilization Unit Achievements and Recognition Platinum Status – Chest Pain / MI Registry Magnet® Designation Unit Culture Highlights Commitment to IU Health Values Treating everyone with dignity and respect Personalized onboarding and orientation Strong physician engagement during orientation Qualifications Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty Why Join IU Health? Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two (2) years of acute care experience; such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
