About The Position

Under the supervision of Pharmacy Leadership and according to standard procedures, this role compounds and dispenses medications and provides pharmaceutical care upon receiving provider orders. The pharmacist is responsible for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs, including medication dosing and monitoring by provider referral. This role is an active participant in codes, supervises interns and technicians, and participates in training pharmacy students and technicians. Additionally, the pharmacist participates in clinical research protocols and drug therapy research activities.

Requirements

• B.S.Pharm from an accredited college of pharmacy is required
• Ohio pharmacist licensure in good standing or eligible for licensure with the State of Ohio
• ACLS or ACLS obtained within 90 days of hire
• No prior job-related work experience
• Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
• Ability to read and write printed material in English
• Ability to effectively perform patient interviews and medication counseling
• Ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team
• Proficient with aseptic technique when utilizing both horizontal and vertical flow hoods
• Must be customer-service oriented
• Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy.
• Must be familiar with pharmacy software

Nice To Haves

• PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Greater than or equal to a six month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
