The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing quality pharmaceutical care/services to patients and health care professionals at any ARH or affiliated unit as assigned. This role involves supervising and performing functions related to inpatient drug distribution, outpatient prescription dispensing, and the I.V. Admixture Program, including the preparation of total parenteral nutrition solutions, chemotherapy, antibiotics, and other intravenous medications. The pharmacist will review medication orders, monitor patient drug therapy for interactions and adverse reactions, and make interventions to improve patient care. Proficiency in the pharmacy computer system is required. The role also includes compounding and dispensing medications, obtaining patient information, providing drug information, maintaining records and inventory, monitoring drug storage, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Additionally, the Staff Pharmacist will train and supervise pharmacy supportive personnel, serve on hospital committees, and may assume the duties of the Director of Pharmacy when assigned. Other related duties as assigned.
