About The Position

This role is responsible for promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting community-based health care through the sale of Mayo Medical Laboratories (MCL) tests. The position involves generating new business revenue, co-developing sales strategies with clients, and projecting annual sales growth. The representative will differentiate MCL tests from competitors, coordinate resources, develop presentations, and participate in the bid process. Collaboration with Product Managers and sales leadership is key to identifying and pursuing upsells for differentiated tests. The role also includes negotiating pricing, coordinating contract development, and ensuring accurate price lock-in. This is a field-based sales position requiring occasional overnight travel and the use of a home office within the designated territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in sales (preferably within the market segment they will be representing, e.g., Neurology), physician/client facing contact, or negotiating contracts within a hospital or laboratory setting.
  • Must work from an office in their home located within the territory of support: North Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico.
  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship; Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
  • Requires a 2-year commitment to the role.
  • Must have excellent human relations, management, and communications skills.
  • Must be accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible, and able to perform well within multifunctional environments, and be customer focused.
  • Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving ability, adherence to Mayo Clinic and MCS policies and procedures.
  • Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while selling MCS Services and providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informative, and professional manner.
  • Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions.
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in business, medical technology, or sciences preferred.
  • FACHE certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting Hem/Onc specialty within the territory: North Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting Mayo Clinic's core values and supporting community-based health care and integrated delivery systems through the sale of Mayo Medical Laboratories (MCL) tests.
  • Generating new business revenue and co-developing specific account and/or test selling and promotional strategies with clients.
  • Projecting annual sales growth, market dynamics, and economic conditions in collaboration with CSR Director, Regional Director of Sales, and Regional Managers.
  • Co-developing and implementing business plans for territory/accounts.
  • Selling and compelling buying influences to move testing to Mayo and their clients by differentiating from competing interests.
  • Coordinating appropriate resources, developing presentations, and participating in the bid process for new and upsell opportunities.
  • Identifying specific tests or groups of tests that are differentiated in the market and pursuing upsells to targeted clients.
  • Negotiating pricing, coordinating contract development and execution, and monitoring the accurate lock-in of prices.
  • Field based sales position requiring occasional overnight travel.
  • Working from an office in their home located within the territory of support.
