About The Position

A Visionworks Clinical Specialist (CS), also known as an Optometric Assistant, supports the exam practice and helps guide patients through the early stages of their Visionworks experience. The role requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The Clinical Specialist helps ensure patients’ exam needs are met and passes relevant information between the patient, optometrist, and sales associates.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to help them educate patients and recommend suitable products and services.
• Support day-to-day exam lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to address additional patient needs.
