About The Position

A Visionworks Clinical Specialist (CS), also known as an Optometric Assistant, supports the exam practice and helps guide patients through the initial stages of their Visionworks experience. The specialist is trained in eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The role focuses on meeting patients’ eye-exam needs and supporting a smooth patient experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and give associates information to help educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye-care needs.
• Perform day-to-day operational activities that support exam-lane maintenance and patient-experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
