About The Position

AbbVie is seeking a Clinical Specialist, Oncology, to join their AbbVie Institute of health education team. This is a field position reporting to the Manager, Clinical Specialists. The primary responsibility is to support healthcare professionals (HCPs) across Canada with their learning needs to improve knowledge and skills through a clinical training program. This program focuses on best practices for patient management and safety related to product administration techniques and protocols, in alignment with the product monograph. The training curriculum is tailored to individual HCPs' needs and includes virtual learning, one-on-one coaching, and exposure to subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse or a licensed Healthcare provider
  • Relevant Oncology expertise (Hematology and/or Ovarian Cancer) with a minimum of five years
  • Solid clinical, medical, and scientific knowledge of the therapeutic area
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Cancer Centres and their functions
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical devices industries (minimum of five years)
  • Training capabilities (minimum of five years)
  • Advanced English skills are essential
  • Strong commitment to compliance, quality control, and integrity

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing training programs aligned with HCPs learning needs and brand strategic imperatives, focused on healthcare professionals specializing in Oncology (Hematology and Ovarian Cancer) across Canada.
  • Performing baseline and ongoing assessments for HCPs requesting training, identifying their needs, and developing tailored training curricula and plans.
  • Coaching and supporting healthcare professionals to ensure progression through their learning journey and determining when learning objectives are met.
  • Communicating effectively and collaborating with the health education manager (HEM) and cross-functional team members to provide optimal learning experiences.
  • Sharing knowledge on product administration protocols and safety monitoring for safe and effective use of AbbVie products.
  • Offering learning programs focused on scientific and/or clinical issues for oncology within the training curriculum (e.g., product administration protocols, monitoring and management of patient treatment).
  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with key experts and acting as the primary contact for external stakeholders regarding administration protocol training requirements.
  • Supporting Oncology therapeutic areas in alignment with Innovation Medicines Canada’s (IMC) guidelines and AbbVie’s compliance requirements.
