About The Position

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Social Worker to provide direct social work services across both inpatient hospital settings. The role involves conducting individual psychotherapy, supportive counseling, and conflict-resolution family interventions. All clinical services must be documented in the Electronic Medical Record in strict compliance with facility policies. The Clinical Social Worker will serve as a clinical consultant to the interdisciplinary team regarding complex social work issues and leverage specialized geriatric and rehabilitation knowledge to improve patient care outcomes. Collaboration with cross-functional care teams in Rehabilitation, Family, and Treating Team conferences for inpatients is essential. Maintaining professional credentials and clinical skills through continuous education and training relevant to the patient population is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) credentialed under the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Work.
  • Current Massachusetts LCSW or LICSW.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience, preferably in a rehabilitation or geriatric hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise staff and students.
  • Ability to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families, establish appropriate professional boundaries, and strictly adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics.
