The University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry is seeking innovative clinicians to join the Outpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Clinic. This large, multi-disciplinary clinic serves as the primary outpatient training site for UCSF psychiatry residents and also includes integrated behavioral health practices within primary care and specialty clinics. Medical students also participate in some components of the clinic's training. Trainees, faculty, and staff providers evaluate new patients across various specialty and faculty practices focusing on different patient populations, including diagnosis-based (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar) and population-based (e.g., women, geriatrics, LGBT) clinics. Following an initial evaluation, clinicians develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans that may include medication management and/or psychotherapy. This position involves providing primarily time-limited individual psychotherapy to a diverse patient panel and facilitating treatment groups. The clinician will build and maintain their psychotherapy panel by collaborating with administrative staff on incoming referrals. The work environment emphasizes collaborative interaction with other practitioners within Psychiatry, with a focus on improving communication and patient service. Participation in Continuous Quality Improvement processes and strict adherence to privacy policies and clinic procedures are expected. UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHPs) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) to practice, which takes 60-90 days and must be completed before the first working day.
