The University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry is seeking innovative clinicians to join the Outpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Clinic. This is a large, multi-disciplinary clinic that serves as the primary outpatient training site for UCSF psychiatry residents. The clinic also has integrated behavioral health practices within Primary Care and Specialty clinics. Medical students also participate in some of the clinic’s components as part of their core clinical training in psychiatry. Trainees, faculty, and staff providers evaluate new patients across various specialty clinics and faculty practices focusing on different patient populations, including diagnosis-based (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar) and population-based (e.g., women, geriatrics, and LGBT) clinics. Following an initial evaluation, clinicians develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans that may include medication management and/or psychotherapy. This position involves providing primarily time-limited individual psychotherapy to a panel of diverse patients, as well as running treatment groups. The clinician will build and maintain their psychotherapy panel by collaborating with administrative staff on incoming referrals. The work environment is collaborative, involving interaction with other practitioners within Psychiatry. Improving communication and patient service are integral to everyone's role in the Department. Participation in the Continuous Quality Improvement process and strict adherence to privacy policies and all clinic procedures are expected. UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in inpatient and outpatient settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites. Credentialing and approval of Standardized Procedures take 60-90 days and must be completed before the first working day.
