About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the inpatient social worker’s duties include but are not limited to psychosocial assessment, case management, individual and family therapy and crisis intervention for patients hospitalized on an acute psychiatric unit. The social worker will provide timely and appropriate discharge planning taking into consideration the patient’s individual goals, preferences, needs and resources. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: UCSF Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital – Mount Zion serves as a location for our inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. The UCSF Inpatient Program is a 30-bed mental health service caring for adults with urgent behavioral and emotional concerns who are referred by a mental health care provider. The UCSF Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program are intensive, short-term treatment options for patients with moderate to serious behavioral and emotional conditions.
