About The Position

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) state operated program High Street is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and compassionate candidate to serve as a Clinical Social Worker (AB). The ideal candidate will provide direct service to individuals in 1:1 and group settings on evidenced based clinical treatments, psychiatric treatments, symptom/wellness management, trauma informed care, crisis intervention, relapse prevention, and risk management. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with working hours from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Days off are Sunday and Monday.

Requirements

  • A Master's or higher degree in social work.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and upholds the process of recovery to promote hope, healing, empowerment and connection.
  • Oversees Record Review Process to ensure service coordination records are in compliance with DMH/Rehab Option regulations and policies and are of a high-quality using recovery and person-centered language.
  • Provides evidence-based practices in psychoeducation and skills training in areas such psychiatric illness management; symptom reduction; dialectical behavioral support; trauma-informed interventions; motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and in addressing co-occurring disorders.
  • Uses recovery-oriented, motivational interviewing, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strength-based approaches to help clients prepare to engage in a recovery process and to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams, and goals to the team and other service providers.
  • Provides comprehensive assessments for all areas of the client’s life as a member of the client’s Individual Action Plan (IAP) Team; develop a clinical formulation that will guide the development of the client’s IAP, as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Contributes expertise to staff members related to clinical, trauma-informed, psycho-educational, behavior management, and culturally competent services as well as clinical consultation as needed.
  • Assesses all areas of client risk and safety; provide crisis intervention, develop Crisis Management Plans in collaboration with the client and other supports/providers; assist clients to identify and/or learn skills for self-management in crisis.
  • Assists staff members in revising plans to implement more effective serve strategies when an IAP is unsuccessful, or to update plans at the scheduled IAP review date.
  • Participates and role models for staff the creation of a helping environment in which family, friends, and others important in the lives of clients are welcome, respected, and valued.
  • Ensures recordkeeping/documentation in accordance with Rehab Option and other internal and external requirements and regulations.
  • Participates in regular quality improvement and utilization management activities consistent with CBFS policy and practice.
  • Engage clients and establish trusting, collaborative relationships to assist clients with meeting their goals.
  • Work with clients receiving services to complete assessments and collaborate with clients to develop their IAP goals. Complete assessments and service and billing documentation in a timely, thorough, and thoughtful manner.
  • Assess clients’ vocational functioning on an ongoing basis using background information and prior work experiences utilizing the Individual Placement Support (IPS) model.
  • With the clients’ permission, provide education and support to family members and gather input about skills, interests, strengths of the client and ideas for support.
  • In clinical capacity, carries out job duties in a professional manner; works collaboratively within and across the services system; promotes strong and positive relationships between DMH and provider staff; and demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and development.
  • Provides coverage for Supervisor and Program as necessary.
  • Identifies and takes initiatives to problem solve around issues and concerns that come up in the Program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
