DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan is a leading hospital in rehabilitation medicine and research, recognized for its expertise in spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics, and catastrophic injury care. The Institute includes the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery and the Southeastern Michigan Traumatic Brain Injury System (SEMTBIS), a federally designated model system for brain injury care and research. RIM also operates 31 outpatient sites focused on sports medicine and orthopedics. This role involves diagnosing and treating speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders under general supervision. The specialist will manage complex and specialty cases, utilizing various diagnostic tests and patient history to develop and administer treatment plans. Responsibilities include counseling patients and families, documenting progress, coding for billing, participating in inter-disciplinary teams, mentoring staff, and providing educational in-services. Continuous professional development is expected.
