The Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a teaching track position at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences to join a Clinical Skills Teaching team comprised of three other DVM faculty practitioners, a Program Director, and a Program Manager (RVT). We are seeking an enthusiastic small animal or mixed animal veterinarian with a passion for teaching to join this team. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the instructional team in years 1-3 of the DVM professional program. Position is contingent upon available funding. Teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction, focusing on small animal clinical skills as well as clinical reasoning and communication. The successful applicant will be a full-time educator with most effort devoted to teaching in the clinical skills program, however, applicants are encouraged to devote up to 25% effort in clinical service and instruction of small animal emergency and critical care in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Collaboration on scholarly activities such as research and publications is optional based on the interests of the successful candidates. The Dr. Donald Holmes Clinical Skills Lab is a 2,200 square feet state-of-the-art education and assessment resource featuring a large open lab with flexible workspaces and over 1,000 additional square feet of devoted storage and model workshop areas. High quality audiovisual and lecture capture technology and projectors are included in these spaces for enhanced learning opportunities. New, updated communication pods for high quality experiential learning were completed earlier this year. High and low fidelity models and simulators are available for both small and large animal skills. Additional teaching spaces and facilities are available for skills instruction, including live animal skills. This position will serve a critical role in contributing to the CVM mission of being a world leader in veterinary professional education.
