About The Position

The Clinical Floor Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily clinical operations to ensure outstanding patient care, efficient patient flow, positive patient experiences, and effective team support throughout the clinic. This role serves as a visible and accessible leader on the clinical floor and is expected to proactively support staff, providers, and patients in real time throughout the workday. The primary focus of this role is patient care operations, clinic flow, staff support, communication, and service recovery. The Clinical Floor Supervisor is expected to remain actively engaged in clinical operations, assist with workflow needs, address concerns as they arise, and step into clinical or operational tasks whenever needed to support patient care and clinic efficiency. Administrative responsibilities, reports, projects, audits, emails, and other non-urgent operational tasks are secondary to patient care operations and should be completed during downtime or when clinic operations are stable. This position demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and service appropriate to all ages of patients served and serves as a role model for teamwork, communication, professionalism, adaptability, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years clinical ophthalmology experience required
  • Strong leadership and team support skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, staff, providers, and leadership
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Proactive problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing operational needs
  • Ability to provide real-time coaching and support to staff
  • Strong customer service and patient experience focus
  • Computer literacy and understanding of clinical systems and workflows
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Ability to identify workflow barriers and implement immediate solutions

Nice To Haves

  • OSC, COA, COT or COMT preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Tech/Scribe preferred or obtained within 1 year
