The Clinical Secretary transcribes orders via computer for the purpose of maintaining, reporting and updating patient census. This role involves performing clerical duties specific to the department and as assigned. The position requires independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision. The Clinical Secretary works directly with patients and/or customers, as well as with internal and external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals and staff.
