About The Position

NeighborHealth is seeking a Clinical Resource Nurse to serve in a collaborative role supporting nursing staff through education, competency development, and quality improvement initiatives. This role partners closely with clinical and operational leadership to promote evidence-based practice, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance patient care across the department. The Clinical Resource Nurse plays a key role in strengthening clinical practice, supporting staff development, and driving continuous improvement. The Clinical Resource Nurse partners with nursing and operational leadership to support high-quality, compliant, and efficient clinical practice across the department. This role leads education, competency development, and quality improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA, OSHA, DPH, CLIA). The Clinical Resource Nurse serves as a key clinical resource to staff, providing real-time guidance, supporting workflow optimization, and promoting evidence-based practice. This role collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams and contributes to departmental and organizational initiatives related to infection control, patient safety, and performance improvement. The position maintains active clinical involvement within the department (approximately 30%) to stay connected to frontline workflows and support patient care as needed. The Clinical Resource Nurse reports to the RN Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with nursing and operational leadership to support clinical practice, workflow optimization, and team development across the department.
  • Coordinate and deliver orientation, onboarding, and ongoing competency-based education for nursing staff and medical assistants.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, providing real-time support, guidance, and feedback to staff in daily operations.
  • Conduct chart reviews, competency assessments, and performance feedback to support staff development and ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, including audits, incident review, and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA, DPH, NCQA, CLIA) through education, monitoring, and process improvement.
  • Support transitions of care, clinical workflows, and evidence-based practice implementation within the department.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams and participate in committees related to infection control, performance improvement, and clinical operations.
  • Maintain proficiency in clinical practice and provide direct patient care as needed to support departmental operations.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning within the clinical environment.
