About The Position

Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Program Team Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH), the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice. Please be advised that this position is comprised of NFA, L2, PRE-OP Assessment Clinic and B2 Surgery. Nurses will be expected to work in all geographic areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Surgical Nursing experience required.
  • Charge Nurse experience required.
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
  • A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

Benefits

  • Pensionable Salary Enhancement - Nurses in eligible classifications may be eligible to earn an additional $5.95/hour when working full-time hours within a prescribed six-month reporting period. (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31st 2027.)
