The Clinical Research Nurse will lead nursing efforts for screening and eligibility for a complex portfolio of pediatric and adult brain tumor trials, including Phase I, first-in-human, clinical trials. This role serves as a clinical research nurse and patient advocate for pediatric and adult brain tumor patients participating in first-in human clinical trials. The nurse will review medical histories, assist investigators in determining participant eligibility, and conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify factors affecting study participation. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Neurosurgery Referrals Team, educating patients and families, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and assisting with care coordination for domestic and international patients. The role involves documenting patient interactions, managing recruitment efforts, developing SOPs, tracking recruitment metrics, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the nurse will maintain study records and regulatory documentation. The position also involves patient navigation, serving as a primary clinical point of contact, facilitating seamless care from identification to enrollment, and developing SOPs for patient integration into the research program. Data collection, verification, and maintenance are key, along with participation in study team meetings. The role includes leading outreach initiatives, serving as a clinical nursing resource, developing and delivering educational presentations, collaborating with various teams to create educational materials, and establishing partnerships with referring providers and organizations. Tracking outreach activities and preparing reports are also part of the responsibilities. A health assessment is required.
