This role serves as a Clinical Research Nurse and patient advocate for pediatric and adult brain tumor patients participating in first-in-human clinical trials within the Department of Neurosurgery, Neuro-Oncology. The position involves leading nursing efforts for screening and eligibility for a complex portfolio of brain tumor trials, including Phase I studies. Key responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, coordinating with referral teams, educating patients and families, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, documenting patient interactions, and managing recruitment efforts. The role also focuses on patient navigation, ensuring seamless care from identification through enrollment, and developing SOPs for research integration. Additionally, the position leads outreach initiatives to promote awareness of clinical trials, serves as a nursing resource, develops educational materials, and builds partnerships with referring providers and community stakeholders. The Clinical Research Nurse Navigator will track outreach activities and recruitment metrics, preparing reports for leadership.
