The Clinical Research Nurse will be responsible for responding to patient alerts, assessing patient symptoms, following clinical protocols, documenting findings, and planning outcomes in EMR and data collection tools. This role involves obtaining and recording research data in conjunction with physicians and other research team members, enrolling study subjects, interviewing subjects, reviewing medical records, and assisting in planning nursing aspects of medical team research. The nurse will also establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, professional groups, and volunteers, and maintain contact with public agencies involved in the research. Additionally, the position requires determining eligibility of potential study participants, obtaining informed consent, enrolling patients in research protocols, and coordinating all aspects of patient care. The nurse will explain research protocols to participants, respond to inquiries, schedule patient participation, ensure compliance with research protocols, and inform referring physicians of protocol requirements. This role also involves collecting, recording, organizing, transcribing, and verifying the accuracy of research data, coordinating data collection, and creating data collection tools using applications like REDCap. The Clinical Research Nurse will collaborate with administrative staff, research peers, and the Principal Investigator (PI) on Institutional Review Board submissions and communicate with sponsors, auditors, monitoring agencies, and Institutional Review Boards in a timely, accurate, and effective manner. The position covers Citrus, Hernando, Marion, and Sumter Counties, requiring reliable transportation and willingness to drive up to approximately 1 hour between clinical locations on weekdays. Some work will be in-person, and some will be via telehealth/remote.
