The COPDGene Clinical Research team at National Jewish Health is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join their team. COPDGene is a large-scale, longitudinal, and observational research study currently in its 15-year follow-up visit with elderly participants with a history of smoking. COPDGene has been an active research study since 2007, producing data that has led to hundreds of publications, and has changed the diagnosis and treatment of COPD and other lung diseases. The team plays a key role in this progress, offering a dynamic environment with opportunities to develop and apply a variety of clinical research skills. The role requires someone who is positive, organized, collaborative, and eager to learn. Study procedures performed by the team include: Conducting informed consent, Taking vitals and demographics, Pulmonary function testing, Diffusion Capacity or DLco testing, Physical assessments like 6-minute walk and sit-to-stand, Administering questionnaires. Key responsibilities include: Study recruitment from our pool of existing subjects, Scheduling and Coordinating complex study visits, Maintaining investigator site files, Specimen processing, shipping, and data entry and uploads, IRB submissions and documentation. This role works closely with the COPDGene admin team, as well as the study Primary Investigators, and is a valued part of both the clinical and research communities. Prior pulmonary clinical research experience is not required. This is an exciting time in lung health research, with new treatments on the horizon and opportunities for professional development.
