About The Position

Oversees and coordinates more complex clinical research studies; serves as a resource to provide comprehensive information to clinical research staff by promoting a smooth operation, preparation of regulatory compliance and interaction with other departments; may supervise clinical research staff. Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain continuity of care and human subject protection with a commitment to research integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Clinical Research (3 Years)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development of case report forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques.
  • Reviews and approves the billing matrix calendars for studies.
  • Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol lifecycle; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines, standard operating procedures, institutional policies, and requirements of regulatory agencies; monitors participants’ progress; identifies problems and/or inconsistencies with study conduct/data and assists in developing corrective action plans; serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency.
  • Provides guidance to members of research team in the implementation and evaluation of clinical research; may train new staff; may serve as lead or as point of reference for other research coordinators for questions, staff scheduling, feedback on performance.
  • May assist in ordering supplies needed for the research projects and research group.
  • May act as primary liaison to Principal Investigator (PI) to assist in developing plans for investigator-initiated research projects; may assist in preparation of budgets and grant proposals to sponsoring agencies; may assist in writing initial study protocol and instructional manuals; may assist in preparation of amendments to protocols and/or modification to study design, as appropriate.
  • May review journals, abstracts, and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies to aid in the planning of new studies.
  • May assist in preparation of study progress reports and data safety monitoring reports for PI and funding agencies.
  • May assist in the interpretation of study data and results; may prepare oral and written reports and presentations and/or assist with preparation of manuscripts for publication.
  • Performs other duties incidental to the work described above.
