About The Position

This position is responsible for working closely with the Department of Surgery Research Scientist to further our basic science research. This position will utilize various cellular and molecular techniques including real-time PCR, cytokine measurement, intracellular cytokine staining, flow cytometry, cell culture, and immunohistochemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing established procedures to perform routine research tasks
  • Learning and applying good clinical practice and research integrity concepts
  • Working on biomedical problems following standard practices and procedures to analyze data
  • Conducting literature reviews, medical record reviews, and meta-analyses
  • Helping with the collection and analysis of data
  • Organizing, maintaining, and updating project-related files and databases
  • Attending project meetings and presenting research findings, as required
  • Collaborating effectively with faculty and team members
  • Assisting with the Department of Surgery's Summer Student Program
  • Contributing to various studies with new research ideas and plans
