About The Position

Apex Skin and Apex Clinical Research Center Team is a rapidly growing skincare facility that empowers employees to deliver exceptional patient experiences. We are currently looking for a talented candidate for the role of Clinical Research Assistant/Phlebotomist. The Clinical Research Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting the Research Department with coordinating, implementing and conducting research projects. Ideal candidates are certified in Medical Assisting and phlebotomy, and demonstrate strong communication skills, clinical accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is a full-time, hourly position and will require travel to the following Apex Skin locations: Mayfield Heights and Lorain.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical environment
  • Organization skills
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Certified in Medical Assisting and phlebotomy (ideal candidate)
  • Strict adherence to IRB, GCP, HIPAA, OSHA, and Apex safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the coordination, implementation, and conduct of research projects ensuring adherence to research protocol requirements which may include: maintenance of regulatory documents and binders, data management, IRB submissions and communication to study team
  • Communicates with sponsors, monitors, research personnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance.
  • Collaborates with study team to schedule pre-site selection visits, site initiation visits, webinars, monitoring and close-out visits
  • Completes regulatory documents, data capture and other source documentation
  • Assists study team in recruitment of potential study participants, as directed
  • May be required to attain and maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing, photography and other testing as required
  • Assists with preparation for audits, on site monitoring visits, pre study visits, and other sponsor visits to site
  • May assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, records, CTMS, etc.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships, strong interpersonal skills, including frequent and open effective communication with stakeholders
  • May participate in the conduct and documentation of the informed consent process.
  • May assist in prescreening activities, including chart review, patient intake interviews, phone conversations, and communication with company stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned
