About The Position

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a full-time Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our growing team. This unique opportunity offers the flexibility of working primarily remotely while maintaining meaningful on-site involvement through just one required on-site visit per month. This position is ideal for an experienced Registered Dietitian seeking an excellent work-life balance while providing high-quality clinical nutrition services to a skilled nursing facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Current state licensure/certification (if required by the state).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities.
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized nutrition interventions.
  • Familiarity with state survey processes and long-term care nutrition regulations.
  • Competency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of clinical nutrition experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter, with more frequent reviews as needed for high-risk residents.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents and families as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Department of Health (DOH) requirements.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Monitor residents for changes in weight weekly and/or monthly to identify potential nutrition or hydration concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care services and resident outcomes.
  • Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Review and approve facility menus on a semi-annual basis to ensure compliance with USDA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the Registered Dietitian scope of practice.
