About The Position

As a Clinical Quality RN, you will be involved with organizational quality and regulatory alignment, regulatory preparedness and education, clinical audits, assessments and improvement planning, consultation on staffing, operations & clinical leadership, MDS/RAI & clinical reimbursement support, system development & cross-disciplinary support, event review, root-cause analysis & corrective action, data collection, analysis & leadership reporting, and interim leadership support. You will participate in the creation, implementation, and ongoing refinement of WesleyLife-wide clinical philosophies, systems, and processes that support compliance with State and Federal requirements across assisted living, memory care, and health center environments. You will equip local teams with WesleyLife-developed tools, resources, and education that support continuous monitoring of quality, timely detection of risks and trends, and rapid corrective action to protect residents and ensure superior outcomes. You will monitor CMS and DIA regulatory updates and support communities in understanding, preparing for, and successfully implementing changes. You will educate all Clinical Leadership roles to ensure that WesleyLife’s policies and practices not only meet regulatory intent but also support person-directed care and our WellAhead quality journey. You will conduct audits within WesleyLife’s Communities for Healthy Living (CHLs) and HCBS programs to assess standards of practice, clinical documentation, and compliance. You will partner with teams to analyze audit findings, identify opportunities, and co-develop practical action plans. You will provide comprehensive reports to local and organizational leadership that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for systemwide improvements. You will collaborate with DONs, EDs, and other stakeholders to support effective staffing practices, budget stewardship, and operational performance within the health centers. You may offer consultation during performance discussions related to clinical quality or health center outcomes. You will work directly with MDS Coordinators and DONs to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant MDS documentation and care plans. You will provide guidance on RAI processes and assist teams in leveraging MDS data to identify opportunities for therapy, hospice, and other supportive services aligned with resident needs. You will support systemwide development, implementation, and monitoring of Quality Assurance programs, Social Services and Dietary consultation, Clinical Reimbursement strategies, and MDS/RAI processes. You will collaborate with local leaders to create action steps that advance WesleyLife’s quality expectations. You will investigate clinical or quality events to determine root causes and work with DONs to implement immediate and preventive action plans. You will communicate necessary systemwide policy or practice updates to all DONs and provide support for implementation within their teams. You will collect and analyze data to develop reports, identify trends, and demonstrate organizational outcomes related to WesleyLife’s clinical quality and strategic goals. You may serve in a short-term interim Clinical leadership role when communities are undergoing leadership transitions.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active, unencumbered Iowa RN license.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership-level experience in geriatric nursing or long‑term care.
  • Expert knowledge of State and Federal regulations, clinical standards of practice, CMS/DIA requirements, quality assurance systems, and person‑directed care models.
  • Champion for innovation and change; able to lead through influence and collaborate across disciplines and communities.
  • Skilled communicator with strong confidentiality, delegation, time‑management, and multi‑project prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Educates all Clinical Leadership roles: Directors of Nursing (DONs), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), and Household Coordinators, Assisted Living Directors and Executive Directors (EDs), to ensure that WesleyLife’s policies and practices not only meet regulatory intent but also support person‑directed care and our WellAhead quality journey.
